Hadn't seen this comment by Crabtree regarding playing with the Raiders...

At 4:53 p.m. EDT, “bigjayboogie” from L.A. presented Crabtree with this first question of the day. Needless to say, it was a good one:

“You’re going to look good in silver and black … What do you say to those who say you are cocky?”

    Crabtree’s response:

“I’m not cocky at all. People talk, man, but I’m a cool guy. As for playing for the Raiders, no comment.”

    ----------------

This was later removed from the NFL chat transcript.

Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini recently said that he was put off by Crabtree's "diva attitude". (The quote was: “The Texas Tech receiver brought a diva attitude on his visit to the [Cleveland Browns’] club facility last week and did not impress Coach Eric Mangini and others.”)

Heading into NFL chat session, he had to know this question would come up. If he even remotely cared about his draft status/wanted to be drafted in that spot, he'd have been prepared with a generic "playing for a team with Oakland's storied history would be a great honor" or "Jamarcus and McFadden they have a lot of things going for them" or some bullshit like that.

Making his desire not to play for Oakland clear, maybe there was a reason he wasn't drafted in this spot.

Yeah there was a sigh of relief from his table when he wasn't drafted...still a mistake by Oak either way. Can always work out a value trade.

So funny how people can make "NO COMMENT" out to be something negative or positive.

      Unreal.

        Unreal.
AAO in all my years of being a fan of sports and reading hundreds upon hundreds of prospect comments talking about potential future teams, 99% of them are ALWAYS complimentary, even to the shittiest of teams. No comment IS a negative in this spot.

Yeah, that was my biggest beef. No way you don't trade down to 12 or 13 or something here... even just getting a 3rd rounder from a team who wants to move up 5 or 6 spots makes a ton more sense then outright drafting a guy not nearly as high on the rest of the league's boards.

Raiders screw up with Crabtree. Remember Randy Moss when he was dropped to 17 and Vikings took him. How many teams passed him up?

Yeah no kidding...had to have been someone wanting to move up to take Crabtree knowing SF would take him if he dropped to 10th. Puzzling move but just the Raiders being the Raiders. Feel you pain though (Alex Smith Rashaun Woods )
