Being drunk feels nice so I would assume it would make work better.

#3It's hard to maintain the drunkness while there. That's the biggest problem. Then you get semi-hungover, start feeling tired, and work dragggsssss. Could go either way.Comment -

#9Is there really a difference between coming to work with 4-5 beers in you,
vs. coming to work with 2 large coffees in you.
Same thing in my book.Comment -

#18I am an alcoholic (now in recovery) who has much experience with going to work on various substances including alcohol.
This sounds authentic to my experience:

#20when i was an alcoholic i did, i was what you could call a functioning alcoholic. But for the most part i was usually just hung over, and probably still had alcohol in my system, even after sleeping. I usually just got slammed as soon as i got off work.
working physical labor jobs in the heat don't mix with drinking.Comment -

#21I stopped working for other people because I can't go to work sober. They get pissed off, I get pissed off, it's just a bad scene. So now I am both the boss and the employee, and everybody's drunk all the time. It's proved to be an excellent solution for me.

Not particularly. Like I'm not a million miles away but I wouldn't want to ride my bike there.Comment -

This brings up an interesting point which I wasn't thinking of earlier. I discovered towards the end of my drinking - when a situation arose where an employer forced me to take a breathalyzer - that I actually was legally impaired every day.
Meaning I had had a full night's sleep and hadn't drunk anything before I took this breathalyzer - but I still registered as impaired.
I was responding earlier only about actually taking drinks and going to work. But the fact was I was basically going to work drunk every single day for years.Comment -

#24Anyone remember the psa that was one wpix channel 11 about coke. It basically was, " I do coke to work longer hours.". The guy kept on repeating himself as it was an endless cycle. This was about 84ish.Comment
