Being a New Yorker who never really liked hockey, I did some reading and saw the Rangers unexpectedly up 3-1 against Washington as I believe the 8 seed.

Well looks like that is gonna fall like a house of cards, Rangers being outplayed badly.

Lou, Washington won Game 3 big too... than New York won Game 4.

Washington lost games 1 and 2 at home. They weren't going to lose all 3 of their games at home.

If they win game 6, it'll be interesting of course. But New York matched up well against the Caps.

If you wanted to start this thread, you should have waited until after the Caps win game 6. Game 6, an elimination game for the Caps, is in NY. I would hardly say goodnight BEFORE that game.

I had the Rangers in 6. Was my only upset pick in the first round, other than saying the Sharks would have a ton of trouble with the Ducks, but I ended up taking the Fins in 7.

Agreed mostly. Goaltending is their only real bright spot in the playoffs . A decent team but aren't playing with the heart it takes. Still, Washington doesn't seem to be tough enough to go far either. They need to play more physical to balance out their great offence.

caps will never makie ot outta the second round...they are far from physical, and brashear does not count, philly would wipe them all over the ice even the pens would...F it so would boston, even jersey...

Theodore VS. Lundqvist was a laughable goaltending match up. It really was. Defense VS. Offense, defense wins in the playoffs.

I didn't know the Caps would make the switch to Varlamov, a much more capable goalie, so early in the series. And it just might save them. But if Theodore were still in this series would have been over already.

lundqvist streak is finally over ovechkin is back and ready to lead...rangers have no one who can lead, put theodore back in net it wont matter.....rangers cant even produce plays on a powerplay, they cant hold the puck in the offensive zone for more then 20 seconds on the PP. Now they did this last yr against philly, came back from a 3-1 series and lost in game 7 OT. But this rnagers team have NO offense NONE what so ever, and for tortarella to sit avery was STUPID, avery and tortarella are the same exact person they have the same personality, you seem him attacking the fans with a stick last night?? For him to sit avery his him bascially saying we forgeit, they need him.

Flyers, they do suck, they don't even belong in the playoffs. Where did I say anything about them being great?

They happened to match up exceptionally well against the Capitals because the Capitals play no defense and rely solely on offense. Even bad teams matchup well against teams sometimes.

In the playoffs, you need to put your personal opinion of how much a team sucks aside and look at how team A matches up against Team B in a playoff series. And despite the fact that the Rangers do "suck", this series matched these two team's strengths and weaknesses up almost identically.
