Stafford actually walks into a pretty decent situation for a QB. He's got an emerging stud at WR in Calvin Johnson, he's got a solid RB in Kevin Smith, the O-line is actually pretty good. So Stafford should have plenty of protection & weapons when he's on the field. Unfortunately the defense sucks. But the Lions have lots of picks to try to fix that problem. Not to mention the fact that Stafford won't be inserted on day 1 as starter, but will probably only play a few meaningless games at the end of the year and not feel the real pressure until year 2, thanks to Culpepper holding down the fort at QB. Not to mention the Lions will be on the top of the draft against next year with lots of picks to throw at the remaining holes on defense. Stafford will be walking into a much better scenario than Joey Harrington or every other NFL bust over the years.
