I have an overwhelming desire to add a punchline to this:

    Something like

Ack. Such poor taste. What is wrong with me today?

It just dawned on me that we never hear from PEI. Someone should check on them to see what they're up to.

FWIW I receive constant communication from PEI, the problem being it is always in the form of potatoes. As such it is difficult to interpret.

This is also why Islanders do so poorly on Jeopardy. Where they are supposed to phrase their responses in the form of questions, they tend to phrase them in the form of potatoes.

They are such nice people but Alex gets flummoxed and it doesn't work out.

While we're here speaking of the maritimes, here's something that gets my goat. I am shifting over to New Brunswick now so try to keep up with the extreme pace.

Okay so we've got the city Moncton - named after Lt. Col. Robert Monckton - but the city is named, as I guess I already alluded, Moncton. Someone took out the "k".

Like, they named a city after him but took a letter out of his name.

I suppose my question is: WTF?

Damn those filthy Albertans. They all work for a living and don't have to pay taxes. They actually get $500 checks from the province just for living in filthy Alberta.
Thats why they all have Flames jerseys on in the stands at the saddledome. They go buy them with their dirty $500 checks.
They all like to work hard and get drunk and party hard but then they don't smoke weed?
                It doesnt make sense.
In BC we go outside and get stoned and enjoy the outdoors. Those filthy Albertans all they do is work and say no to drugs and get free Flames jerseys.

Albertans seem pretty solid to me.

When I was much younger and more foolish I thought they all lived in the jungle and did a lot of swinging from trees and communing with monkeys.

The reason was related to the oil industry in Alberta. I would hear people talk about the Alberta tar-sands. That's where the oil is. It gets extracted from this sand. Except I thought they were saying the Alberta Tarzans. My imagination just ran wild with it.

But anyway I got straightened out on that months ago. I don't think an Albertan would know what to say to a monkey any more than you or me. But I got a nice cowboy hat from Alberta.

Ice fishing is not something I'm big on. My dad and brother are big on the fishing so I certainly got exposed to all kinds of fishing including the kind done in huts on frozen Lake Scugog. But I just never took to it.

As you get older, the ice fishing excursion can become more of a drinking thing but really, there are other places to drink that don't involve damp long johns and a bucket of smelt and perch.

Nowadays, when I am exposed to any kind of fishing, I pull for the fish.

I'm pretty sure Isla Fisher is Australian.

Rachel McAdams who was also in Wedding Crashers and is also known for a certain measure of loveliness is from London (Ontario, Canada).

Only in the world of political bureaucracy could this happen and no one would say, "Hey, a dumb error has been made not unlike what is going to happen with The Washington National's jerseys in 150 years or so. Rather than going through the rest of our lives as The Natinals, why don't we, you know, make a correction?"

I mean seriously. To borrow a phrase from our Newfie friends: Lard tundrin!

Rogie, I haven't even thought about writing it yet.

I've mailed a dozen or so letters to Cuba and only a couple have ever been received.

I hate to waste energy on a letter that won't likely be delivered, the Cubans see the envelope from Canada and think there is cash inside.

Yes I thought we might get some nice Canadian Rachel McAdams nudity in The Notebook. They teased the hell out of it like it was coming for sure. But ultimately, our spirits were crushed like the ice in a pretty-colored fiveteamer aperitif.
