Super Bowl to be held in London
Just said on radio "A senior NFL spokesman has been in high level talks about holding the Superbowl in London"

I would be really pissed off if somebody wanted to hold the FA Cup in the USA.

I doubt this happens in the next 20 years, and shouldn't ever.

Well it isn't so ridiculous to see how the NFL, who care only about money rather than integrity of this sport (i.e. starting to make some teams play one overseas game in the regular season) would dream up something wacky like this.

However I think it's going way too far. We put up with the NFL robbing season ticket holders of a home game by making teams start to travel to London during the regular season, we put up with the NFL's monopoly with DirectTV over Sunday Ticket, over their refusal to grant NFL Network at a reasonable rate to cable providers etc. This would be going too far.

CrazyLou your right..I'm a season ticket holder for the New Orleans Saints and last year I lost out on one home game b/c the Saints went to London to play the Chargers..this is def. going too far.
If the UK fukks want to see football...they should get their ass on a plane and fly to the United States..fukk them

                I heard this too.

The halftime act will be the Spice Girls.

And Susan Boyle will sing the national anthem.

Maybe it will be the Super Bowl consolation game that London will host, NFC championship game loser vs. AFC championship game loser. They can play for a nice bronze medal.

Fine with me if they play in London. They might as well play on Mars for all I care. Who cares?

NFL in talks on London Super Bowl

The NFL has had "substantive talks" with officials in London about holding the Super Bowl in the city, a senior league official has told BBC Sport.

While commissioner Roger Goodell has previously admitted an interest in bringing the game to London, this is the first confirmation of discussions.

"We've spoken on what it would take to host and for us to bring it over," said events vice-president Frank Supovitz.

"The city has all the facilities needed, and in great quantity."

I can understand they're trying to expand their audience, but if I live in another country I don't think I want to learn a new sport, especially one that my city and entire country doesn't even have a team in.

That leads to the obvious, the NFL wants to add more teams, venues, games, until eventually every team is required to play at least one game off US soil. The NFL isn't content with being an American sport, it wants to be a worldly sport, at least the blood-sucking parasites running it now envision it to be such.

This was a sport that began here, and should stay here.

                                Really?

You won't watch football anymore and you won't watch the superbowl because it is held in London?

Incredibly stupid, yes. A slap in the face to all the fans that wanted to travel to see their team play in the SB, yes.

But I doubt people would stop watching football over it.

SB in London is nothing compared to the upcoming union talks. If there is a lockout or God forbid we should have a strike like back in the '80s where we lost half the season or worse yet played the entire season with scabs. Compared to a strike, considering a SB in London is nothing.

Let the Brits host a Super Bowl. It's nothing but a corporate orgy anyway.

On top of the other 10,000 reasons why this would be wrong, just think of the time difference. If you started the game at 6pm in London, it would be 10am on the west coast for kickoff! That would be a little weird, not even enough time to get up and get drunk!
