True story: I sued my employer once for failing to compensate me for two paid sick days. Supervisor claimed I wasn't really sick, I asked to see his medical credentials. My employer settled with me out of court, to avoid further company embarrassment. To my surprise, I wasn't even fired after my lawsuit settlement.
