Will this be the highest rated NBA finals?...
I am guessing YES.. i thought last year it would never be broken with Lakers/Celtics, but this year, IF Clev meet Lakers, 2 best records in NBA and Lebron the King vs Kobe the King.. 2 best players in NBA face each other..

I don't see how this will not be the best NBA finals and most anticipated and most viewed in NBA history..

Is there a better finals matchup than this?

Nicky, although I think it will be a high rated NBA Finals if this matchup comes to fruition, I do not see how it beats out the ratings of the old Celtics/Lakers finals in the 80's. The NBA at the time was really at it's apex TV wise, and Bird/Magic was the biggest thing around. With the NBA today, the Kobe/LeBron matchup would be the most anticipated NBA event in the last 2 decades, but still not strong enough to beat out Lakers/Celtics.

Good point Nicky, it will be close if they face each other but we are a long way off from that. It is rare two of the nba ll time greats go up against each other in a final. Larry was great but did not have the world appeal of a Kobe or a Lebron, actually MAgic did not either.

I'm pretty certain Lakers/Cavs would crush NBA Finals ratings records, just like the Pats/Giants SB crushed records, get enough hype generated and records set a decade or more ago aren't that difficult to surpass.

the ratings would be amazingly high if it was nba on nba. But since it's abc, it won't surpass anything since the 90's.

nobody wants to watch the Cavs. They are boring as boring can be. By the third game people will be bored stiff. Ref will get James his title tho. Poor lakers are gonna get killed with calls. Sad because when Jordan was playing he went out and took the title where as James he needs all the help he can get from the refs. I wonder if it will be Denver. Billups did lay down for him the year he went to the finals the first time. Maybe he can have ten turnovers a game again for him.

Cav's boring??? What games are you watching? They uptempo, shoot the 3's, fastbreak like the old showtime and they have the most exciting finisher in the game.

Unfortunately, the NBA doesn't have nearly the amount of fans they had during the Bird/Magic era. The numbers have gotten less and less each year although it's making a bit of a comeback. I'm from Cleveland and it's also not a big market team. Even with Lebron you are not going to generate the amount of viewers as if it was Chicago or NY in the finals. We're die hard fans so we're going to watch the games but aunt mary and suzie at work could care less unless its the home team. Does the NBA want 2 million fans from Cleveland watching or 20 Million in NY?

Cleveland vs San Antonio was one of the lowest viewing and Cleveland had Lebron. Both were 2 small markets and it didn't help that the Spurs were boring as hell.

Boston vs LA would be higher rated but I want the Cavs obviously.
