Time Warner voluntarily bocking sportsbetting websites
There is a report on the RX, and my experience from talking to others, that Time Warner has begun to block out online gaming websites. So far these sites include betcris, webwager, and matchbook.

It is possible to use kproxy.com to access the sites.

However, I would urge all that use timewarner to drop them and take your business elsewhere.

That explains it. And thanks for the link. I've been looking for a good site like that.

Bet Cris currently being flooded with complaints from Time Warner customers

There are millions of time warner cable users in the United States. Time warner is also now known as Comcast in some areas.

They are just beginning to block out websites, and according to the rep I spoke to Bet Cris is being flooded with phone calls, email and chats.

As Time Warner starts going down the list of online gaming sites, this could potentially effect a lot of people.

It is up to websites such as SBR to educate bettors that they can use sites such as kproxy.com, in order to maintain our freedoms.

I was playing Poker on Party the other night. Tables are full of Russians and Vietnamese. Who would have thought 20 years ago that Russia would have more freedoms than the US?

or that Americans would be dying in Afghanistan while the Russians are safe at home

I have comcast in denver and cris works just fine.

It can't be consitutional for them to do that, someone's got to legally challenge this.

CRIS not working for me. Roadrunner in San Antonio.

Last time this happened is was something other than a block. I think it was a router or some downstream issue.

If they are blocking then check back. We will have a direct link workaround that will save you from wasting time going to a proxy server and having to type the url.

Many gambling sites go through the same router. The problem may be there instead of Time Warner blocking the sites.

Time to get a proxy server service or program. There are ways around this, its just up to you on how far you want to go.

betcris, wagerweb working, matchbook still not coming up

Betcris and Wagerweb are now working for me.

Time Warner did add language to their policy, that their ISP can no longer be used for "illegal gaming". This was recently added, and lead some, including myself, to conclude these websites were blocked, as Time Warner does have a history of blocking sites, and then unblocking them as customers complain.

I have no idea if this is related but my ATT (SBC) DSL was down from midnight last night to 3:30PM today. They told me an up link router was the problem.

Lucky for me my old laptop has a dail up modem and DSL provides 'free' numbers to use when DSL is down.

The day an ISP in the USA actually does block an online gambling site will be the day that marks the downfall of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Bill. The government will push but they know if they push that hard, they'll get pushed back by more than just a few gambling junkies.

The balance of power will begin to change within a week and with it I hope we'll see a return to recognition of individual rights.

                              Just to reiterate here...

Time Warner is not blocking any gambling websites at the moment. They never implemented a policy of blocking gambling sites.

Time Warner is definitely crap but this in not part of the reason why.

No because it will only be available to none US players. And you will have to click on a box to confirm you dont reside in the US.

Thats pretty much correct. It will be available only on the international site. Its a resource that once complete can hopefully be used by players when there are downstream problems with routers, switches, ect., that ISP's expierence from time to time. Of course it would create access from anywhere in the world reguardless of downstream problems, blocks, parent controls, ect., as long as you could connect to the internet.

Their TOS, from what I understood, is referring to using their service to offer gaming services to the others, the consumer. It is under consumer fraud, along with emails scams and soliciting money from others.

I wouldn't use a proxy site like the one posted above or any public proxy server for bet-related stuff. Anything you can see and access the proxy admin can see, beware.
