A bat broke. Hitter held a small piece, and most of the bat thrust directly into his mask. He's been down for 10 minutes.

Paramedics went out on the field like it was just a stroll through the park. No urgency.

Definitely. How many people have been injured as a result of broken bats? I see a potential class-action suit.

guy was carried off on a backboard.... barrel must have been moving at 75 mph's or above when it hit him, with about 2 lbs of weight....

To be honest it looked pretty innocent. Bat broke, and the large chunk smacked him in the mask. Didnt look like anything serious right away.

I hope he has good insurance because only an insane person will sit behind an area where 100 mph balls are thrown in your face and 75 mph bats that break easily are swang in front of you.

oh don't get me wrong you definlty have to have some bulls being a UMP. I'm curious if a player ever rolled on a umpire cuz of a call. i'm going to look this one up.
