For me it would come down to who provided the most HDTV channels, is tough for me to watch anything else anymore.

Also, isn't Time Warner still in a fight with the NFL network? Last time I heard you won't get that channel which could be a big deal with the Thursday night NFL games.

        my suggestion from las vegas

        1)called the cable guy
        2) active the service for 1 day
        3) cancel the service. hoperfully the filter is removed.
        4) free service for life!!

        if all service cancel,
call the cable guy and have him remove the filter. pay the
cable guy!! free service for life!!

              Seattle,
Thats how much of a dumbass I am on TV services. It actually is DirectTV.

I think I'm gonna try DirectTV. I had Time Warner before and was not impressed.

Disnetwork if you like more international channels. Being from Argentina I like to have all the soccer channels from there

Since DirecTV is the only service with NFL Sunday Ticket that would be the route to go John.

I pick Directv as well, simply because of NFL Sunday Ticket. I just wish Directv would add Horse Racing TV along with TVG. Dish is the only service, I think, that offers both racing channels. It really hits home in the winter, because HRTV has Gulfstream and Santa Anita and TVG only has Aqueduct and Fair Grounds among the big tracks.

It is impressive to order movies and switch your packages on these satellite systems and get the changes within 10 minutes. Showtime currently airing "Mean Girls," so how can you go wrong with Lindsay Lohan?

Except during snowstorms and driving rain. Then Directv sucks because it doesn't come in at all.

If you have a HDTV and that is a concern, then Dish network will be the way to go. They have the most HD channels. If you dont mind giving up Sunday Ticket. I have no use for Sunday Ticket, because Im not home on Sundays.

                            HDTV = Dish Network

Im with you Laker, I cant watch SD channels anymore. Its HD channels or nothing most the time.

I've had Directv for 3 years and I've lost the signal no more than 4 or 5 times, and never for more than 30 minutes. The few times I lost the signal was snow and a couple of thunderstorms.

The Directv customer service however is not that great. You can add programming instantly but to delete programs you have to call most of the time. Also, if you ever sign up for one of the package deals (NFL, NBA) with their mid-season offer, they will automatically sign you up for the full package the next season without telling you until the bill starts and you have call them up to cancel.

Despite those problems, I still think it's better than cable, although I have to use cable for networks (tree blocks the network satelite) and I use them for high-speed Internet as well.

Onlooker, I here you on HD. Am lucky enough to have local cable that has 19 HD channels and growing every couple months. Love it.

Mine only has about 12 I think it is. Without ESPN2, that pisses me off every Saturday. No NFL Network either. I may have to add the Dish Network HD channels. I just need to buy a HD receiver for it.

I cant wait for PS3 to come out, it outputs in 1080p. I have a 1080p TV. I can only imagine Madden in 1080p. Ive seen Blu-ray DVDs, and its amazing. I just dont want to shell out a grand for the player.

Yeah, have NFL and ESPN2. 2 is big for football, agree.

Not sure if will by PS3, but if enough BluRay DVD available for rental will seriously consider. Netflix is renting out HD now which is cool.

The Blu-Ray players will play the HD DVD's as far as I know. And I love that the PS3 will be a Blu-Ray player as well. Its a complete unit.

I have directv, and i would NEVER recommend it. The signal goes out whenever there is strong rain. The local HD channels are OVER THE AIR, not on the sattalite, so you need to get another antenna, and it is a pain in the ASS because HD antennas are line of sight (meaning you either have to live in an area that has a clear view of the antenna, or mount that fucker on the roof yourself). Plus, you have to pay extra per month for more than 1 tv, buy all the equipment, and sign a 2 year contract for HD.

If you can live without the nfl ticket, DON'T get it.
