I lift about 5 times per week. I know that joint problems are usually triggered by a deficiency in some vitamin, I forgot which one. Make sure you take a multivitamin formulated for bodybuilders, like Universal Animal Pack, or Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men.

up till 3 yrs ago, i was at the gym here 6 days a week. i was one of the toughest mother fukkers in the gym, no joke. i was benching 355 lbs as my max. i was a beast. i loved it.. then i got into some serious gambling and i stopped going. i just lost interest.. have no more desire to do it. i got bored of it.. it really was hard work and you have to keep it up or you lose it.. it's a full time job and i am not ready for it.
i haven't touched a weight now in 3 yrs.. i am just a fat fukk now. but when i was doing it, i felt really good and always full of energy and i can eat what i want, as much as i want, and NEVER gain a pound. not the case anymore..

I don't pump iron, but I do simple body weight exercises daily and I take L-glutamine supplements to prevent joint pain. If I don't, my elbows hurt like hell the next day.

You nailed it Matt; elbows are killing me.
Joint juice seems to be working.

Do try L-glutamine, it works like magic for me. And ask Chi_Archie and buztah for more suggestions, they're more knowledgeable about that stuff.

Bateman:
Glucosomine has shown promise with joint pain, and with any strength program
be sure that you are getting adequate protein and you are staying well hydrated.
Obviously you should be modifying your program to work around the pain. Try
decreasing both intensity (amount of weight), and volume (total reps and sets),
on all exercises that affect the problem area.
Many joint problems can be attributed to overuse type injuries. You mentioned
your elbows are giving you problems. Are you performing more bench press
type movements than you are performing upper back rowing type exercises that
work the mid back (rhomboids and mid traps), as well as the rear deltoids?
Too many pressing movements, in relation to pulling movements can alter
the length/tension relationships of all muscles involved in area, and especially
if you are working at high intensities this can put excess strain on the joints.
So:
1. If pain persists, see a doctor to be sure there is no damage in the joint.
2. In the gym, cut back on intensity and volume. Work on range of motion,
stability and muscle balance.
3. Maintain a good diet with proper protein intake, hydration, and
consider glucosamine which has been shown to help with joint related issues.

I would shoot roids if you can get your hands on them, maybe a mild one (Winstrol) water based that makes your muscle harder, growth hormones are great but just too $$costly to take.
