Wake won't be able to defend the trey, as evidenced from their previous games. But wake also struggles defending the lanes and stopping drives, where I see Troy Williams being able to drive and/or dish to Bryant.

Big boy center is 'probable' to play, but I think the important mismatch here is strong guardplay by LSU and a total lack of backcourt from Marquette.Comment -

Coming off a 51-point win, I'd say they're familiar with the Chaminade court and rims, especially a red hot 6'8" Svi who hit 6 treys. No Jayhawk played more than 28 mins so they'll be more rested than UCLA who went down to the wire with UNLV late last night. I expect Alford to take a million shots, but can't say if he'll make many. UCLA bigs Parker & Welsh averaged 3.5 fouls in 'big games' last season, vs tourney teams with respectable front courts. Welsh was more of a supporting role but was held to basically no impact scoring or rebound wise in those games. I expect the Jayhawks to get to the line a lot and shoot the long ball better than the Bruins.Comment -

Uconn -4
I expect them to dominate Mich on the boards and points in the paint. Michigan will have no answer for Brimah, as they rely on mostly freshmen forwards and Doyle, who was they're 2nd best big last year in a horrendous front court. Guardplay goes to Uconn as well. They have a trio of guards who shoot high % (Gibbs, Miller, Purvis) and should score in bunches just as Xavier's guard trio did.
Kansas -2
I actually really like Vanderbilt this year. They got 3 7footers which creates a size/depth problem for pretty much any team (other than maybe Purdue or Zaga). But the Jayhawks look on FIRE in the Chaminade gym and I think that continues, while on defense they should limit Vandy's perimeter shooting. Should be a tight game but I'll take the team who's been tested all summer and early this season vs a team playing their first big matchup on the road - and I do mean road, as this small gym is filled with blue tshirts and RCJH chants.
Florida -13
They should feel comfortable shooting on their home rims and I expect this team to continue to develop into a solid squad. I think the gators will continue to have value early on until lines catch up to them. Vermont will likely continue their sloppy play with tons of turnovers and fouls.Comment -

Villanova -16
They're still underrated even though they're one of the best teams in the country right now. Playing a short distance away in NY with a dominant PG Arcidiacono, good paint presence and top freshman talent this group is great at covering spreads. Stanford is pretty bad this year but still has the name I guess, but I don't see them leaving it all on the court, across the country in a game they're clearly overmatched in.
Gonzaga -3
Texas A&M is very solid this year and it could be a tight game. Both squads run their offense through the front courts but zags got the experience and leadership to keep pushing, whereas A&M is largely dependent on freshmen who are used to being taller & more athletic than their high school opponents and now a few college teams.Comment -

Kris Dunn is a top 5 PG and his supporting cast is developing nicely. Their one weakness here would be a mismatch down low, as the Friars top out at 6'9" while AZ uses two different 7-footers; however, Kaleb Tarczewski will not play tonight after rolling his ankle late last night in a narrow win over a terrible Santa Clara squad. Rustic will play but does not have the tenacity that Tarzan does down low. AZ will have inflated lines for a while due to their name and rep, but this will likely be a down year for them.Comment -

Wichita state riddled with injuries, and the Grady one hurts most in this matchup. Shockers will be oversized down low in an early game where shots may not fall. Woodbury and Uthoff will own the paint and boards which gives iowa a big mismatch and advantage to win this game.Comment -

Hey guys, yes I post all plays in this thread. I woke up early yesterday to post the 10am iowa pick, must've been half asleep, and posted about the other games in the wrong thread.

I'm actually surprised to see a line offered here. It probably has to do with IU recently losing two games on their trip. But they're back home tonight shooting on their own rims against a terrible 3pt defense. 4 of the 5 teams Alcorn State has played this season shot in the 40%s or 50%s from deep. 3 of those teams won by margins in the 20s and 30s, and those weren't power conf teams. The disparity between effective FG% is insane here, with the Hoosiers being top 10 and Alcorn State bottom 5 in the country.Comment -
