#282no, snatching scholarships would have been the right thing to do logically from a moral perspective and business.Originally posted by seaborneqOk smart guy. Pulling the scholarships of students who are standing up for somethings that others are supporting would have made the situation worse. Now they could have played the games with the players NOT boycotting, but snatching scholarships would have gotten even more heads to roll than the President and Chancellor.
Morally you signed up to play, honor what you brought in to do. Too bad they weren't a relevant team this year, I doubt they would have done this.
In business you don't bend in these situations. The school was losing $1mil per game which will seem irrelevant to the can of worms they have opened. Pull the scholarships, eat the loss and find a brand new team next year. Plenty of college level talent out there who won't give two shits but to play. And most importantly, never have this problem again.Comment -

#283You may want to check out Hillsdale college in Michigan. It's a good school and this PC shit wont happen on that campus. Only thing going on at Hillsdale is kids being kids and education. Had couple of family members play on the Hillsdale football team and it is a competitive team.Originally posted by DISTROYACant agree more. Scared to death for my teenage son.Comment -

#284If you pull the scholarships, you have to fire the faculty and pull the student aid and grants from others who are wanting the same thing. Why punish just one group........the athletes and NOT the other students and faculty for supporting the same cause. That is even more discrimination. What's the difference with the athletes. Everyone had skin in the game, but you only punish the athletes?? If you punish everyone who has a problem it's one thing if you only punish one group its another.Originally posted by brooks85no, snatching scholarships would have been the right thing to do logically from a moral perspective and business.

#2851. 2. They don't have to "pull student aid or grants." Those are doled out by the state and federally. These students were under scholarships through the school, not the state or federal government.
3. Bold part is another mistake they made, letting students off the hook for tests.
4. The obvious difference with the athletes is they are on scholarships from the school, not from the government like students. They have obligations when they sign just like when a student takes federal aid they are required to be in class.
and now on the news looks like Ithaca college students doing the same thing.Comment -

#288So you can ONLY support a cause if you are NOT on scholarship????? Wow. Good thing the athletes were given the scholarships and didn't have to earn them. So, these brainwashed sheep doing these idiotic protest are protesting what exactly?
- Protesting GMO foods that are killing us?
- Protesting the Federal Reserve that's stealing the future of these kids?
- Protesting wars that are killing millions for corporate gain?
- Protesting the fact they no longer have any reasonable expectation of privacy?
- Protesting elected representatives who've circumvented law and allowed criminal gangs access to firearms that have killed thousands?
- Protesting rigged elections?
- Protesting those who were to big to fail and to big to jail?
- Protesting the rigged stock market?
- Protesting the artificially low interest rate?
- Protesting a lax border security that threatens the safety of every American?
- Protesting the CIA and White house for high treason and abetting foreign terrorist networks?
- Protesting planned parenthood killing and harvesting the body parts of babies?
- Protesting the recent Ivy league schools wanting to destroy the documents of freedom for all called the Constitution?
What exactly is holding these little puppets back that is worse than anything i've mentioned?

#312This may be the most ignorant logic I have ever seen. Pull these scholarships and what great high school talent is going to go there in the future? They play in the SEC. Imagine black kids being considered sell outs for even considering missouri. That's what would happen. Can they field a successful team with all whites in the SEC? And imagine the negative press they'd receive. They'd get buried. On the heels of the rape case that was poorly handled there and ended in the victim's suicide. You can't be serious.Originally posted by brooks85no, snatching scholarships would have been the right thing to do logically from a moral perspective and business.
