Well I've always thought of Dusty as a manager that can get you in the playoffs, but (actually the same as Collins) lets his relationship to the players get in his way in the playoffs. Now the Nats, after this season might be happy with that. I still think this is a short sighted signing.

This is the most odd hire I could imagine.
I remember looking at the list of possible candidates and I saw Baker's name and just thought that was for the blackey requirement and would never be seriously looked at.
Guy has to be pushing 70.

Called back class. Dusty was the best manager that cincy had since sparky. But he got ran out of town and I wish him well. He was to eclectic for the nati. P.S. this is lakerboy's thread. You guys don't mind pounding him when he loses. Give him some credit when he is RIGHT!

Last coach made the playoffs easily. Lets see what dusty baker does in playoffs. When you have the biggest payroll in division it's embarrassing not to make the playoffs.
