#39And Here I Thought
Originally posted by DougIt would cost me at least $1,000 to go , that's not counting any monies I might lose/ spend. That $300 of "help" from SBR is very much a factor, for me.
I'm ****ed either way.... wife will expect to go to Vegas in August, because we "always" go "there "in Aug.", so I'm almost required to go, and that's "my" trip.
Now the dumb bitch will want me drive her like 1,000 miles to ****ing Disneyworld, I'd pay $1,000 to not have to go there. It sucked when I was 13, ain't gonna be much better at 45 !Comment -

#48ok, lets do this
put our collective brains together and ask SBR to use said funds for something else that all or most posters could enjoy
maybe a webinar with interviews or think tanks or both
i would even pay to see loshak interview shanty, holy fuk the thought of it makes me break out laughing
lot of smart guys on the board, please suggestComment -

#49If happy goes I'll go even if I have to pay my air fare. But right now I'm taking the wait and see approach. I'll be in vegas this year whether SBR has a bash or not but would prefer it to be at the BASH.Comment -

#51I'm with my buddy wtf on this. Take all the funds you would use on the bash and pay Loshak and Shanty for the mother of all interviews. Have them do it in person.

#52This doesn't affect me since I was planning on driving anyhow. I can see that it would make a huge impact for people that live in Central Time Zone and further East. I'm curious to hear whose plans this changes on attendance. If the Bash ends up sounding like a lame crowd I'm still down to have all my chat buddies here at my place and we can just enjoy the beach and the fishing on the boat.Originally posted by StraitShooter90% of the guys dont give a shit about your problems..and the other 10 are glad you have them..Comment -

#57My immediate reaction to hearing there probably won't be comped airfare: I'm more likely to attend.
I don't even know why but that was my gut reaction. I guess I instinctively figgered it would mean less kids who, as pico says, will be constantly talking about jj and sammy.Comment -

#58Im probably not going without comped airfare. If you set a precedent of having it the first year you should offer it every year.Originally posted by SBR_JohnAAO = good dude. Buying you a drink in Vegas buddy.Comment -

#61The SBR guys throw a quality bash. There will still be all the cocktails one can drink, free rooms, a free meal or two, free golf and a great poker tourney with some big cash for those who make the final table. Which hopefully will be easier if attendance is below last year.Comment -

#64Yeah, that's an excellent point Sickler. Even though I love to drink, I can do that just as well on the beach here in 75 degree weather as opposed to the stifling 115°F summer of Vegas. I'd basically be a prisoner of the heat at a casino with nothing to do. I don't play poker, don't care to bet on baseball from an onshore sportsbook, and don't golf when it's above 80°. I'm pretty sure all the guys from the chat room that I wanted to hang out with will eventually meet up at some point with a more entertaining agenda.
Besides, I was worried all along that if I brought a young-looking boyfriend that Bill Dozer would try to have me arrested for being a child molester. That asshole still hasn't apologized for casting those aspersions on my character. Poor form, Bill...Originally posted by StraitShooter90% of the guys dont give a shit about your problems..and the other 10 are glad you have them..Comment -

table or what ever games you would lose $300 on. This could
be only one or two hours of play to make up your airfare. If that
don't work stay away from your first two hookers, that should
save you $300.Comment -

#67For the dude who says he isn't gonna go all that way to shake hands. Well I shook hands and hung out and shot the shit with SBR John, Diogee, the prick Happy boy, Iwin and others. Great time. Even getting drunk and going out of the poker game wasn't a bad thing altho I missed dinner.
If it happens (and I hope it will) I will be there. Given you had to pony up the airfare first, if you can't afford the fare you won't be there anyways.Comment -
