I did ok over the weekend, won almost $200 between Saturday and yesterday morning. and still have a possible $230 n a few plays riding depending on what happens tonight.

I'm playing fantasy without doing much research. One of the things that I am trying to understand is why would anyone have different lineups for cash games Vs large guaranteed tourneys? I am trying to get as many points as possible regardless of the tournament.

I dunno, I figure with the large guaranteed tourneys you need to take a shot or two and go for the home run, compared to heads up or 50/50 where you need steady points

a lineup that will beat your opponent can also not even cash in a big tourney



also just my theory, probably why I suck and barely cash

I'm playing fantasy without doing much research. One of the things that I am trying to understand is why would anyone have different lineups for cash games Vs large guaranteed tourneys? I am trying to get as many points as possible regardless of the tournament.

You are looking for a "floor" in cash games. You want guaranteed points from consistent players. You are looking for a "ceiling" in huge tournaments. You want to hit on low owned players that blow up for big points. If you have Julio Jones in your cash game lineup and he goes off, that helps you and you don't care if others you are playing have him as well. You are looking for that baseline of points that will have you consistently winning more than 56% or so of your cash games. If he is in your tournament lineup and he goes off, it really doesn't help you because 30% of the other lineups also have him so you are not gaining any advantage over them. If you had someone like Michael Crabtree yesterday in a tournament lineup that would give you a huge advantage over most of the field because only 3-4% of other lineups would also have him. In contrast you wouldn't use Crabtree in cash games because he can also throw up a goose egg so his floor is considered low.

in a 50/50. Maybe NHL where there are less sharks.

ill have a couple NHL lineups tonight and one NBA

there are sharks in the NHL ones too but hockey is most luck....in NBA you can almost predict who will have 20-40 points a night, but in the NHL its all about being on the ice at the right time...the +/- is a huge difference maker especially when people include a whole line change into their team

I usually start at goalie, pick a couple cheap defense that will be on a teams powerplay 2 unit, and work my way up from there

Took 2nd in a $7 dk tourney and hit for 150. It was my last 7 on dk, been playing mostly on fd....

Wiggins gave me a big fat 0 and I missed first by a half point. I'll take it, can't believe i made the money let alone take 2nd with a goose egg.

On dk in a much smaller tourney, I put together a team that managed to squeak out a 2nd place finish with over 400 players. One lineup on dk I win, combination of 10 different lineups on fanduel I got smacked. Strange how it works.

Yes I'm in NY, been reading some of the articles, and have heard that dk and fd will be fighting against the attorney general. It would be a shame for us not to be able to play anymore, and I find that if it is banned here, many or most other states will follow suit. This really sucks, fantasy has been my main out for gambling and would have to find another way to get my fix. I've cut back a ton on sportsbetting, and I don't really want to start sending money to Costa Rica or Phillipines with fake names anymore, I've had many names that I've used blacklisted and my comfort level is minimal at best in doing so. Bitcoin was never a serious thought for me because along the way you need a bank account to retrieve your funds, and I don't think that gambling funds and US Bank accounts should coincide.

I hope that it becomes regulated for the fish like myself so that there's a better chance for the rec players to win big instead of being at an extreme disadvantage. Single entry tourneys are great for players doing it for fun and a maximum of ten lineups per tourney would level the playing field rather than 250 or 500.

I quit online poker a few months ago also, I will be lost without fantasy if it is banned.

I guess most of you saw that the N.Y. Attorney General has outlawed fantasy sites now calling it gambling. So if you live in N.Y., you're screwed......as of 11/10/2015.
