They are sore losers because they donk off money every week and can't understand why they lose. What these idiots don't realize is if they ban draftkings what do you think would be their next target? With fantasy sports running sports betting is not the focus. People need to learn

NBA and MLB commissioners both came out in supports of DFS in the last few days. With that much money behind them I think they are safe for the most part. Wouldn't surprise me to see some form of regulation but an outright ban is very unlikely.

There will be a legal showdown for sure. Too much $ involved not to be. They can't charge more rake than they do and have it sustainable. Take it out of their 50 trillion dollar advertising budget

NFL only survives because of fantasy football. It turned the league around.

Perhaps if they were a little more subtle with their advertising they would be catching such heat? It's fukking eeeeeeeverywhere. And respectable people shilling for it too. I don't need Bill Cowher telling me his best fanduel values before the game

Check how much viewership has gone up over the years. Going up every year. That's why league is worth as much as it is. Viewership = revenue, obviously.
Fantasy exploding more and more. More youth getting into it. Numbers growing much higher.
Why do you think Adam Silver wants to legalize gambling and is pro daily fantasy?
He knows that it can take associations/leagues to new heights
We've already seen it with NFL.....
Why was MLB most viewed sport in the US for years?
Until what?
Until Fantasy Football exploded.
Do some research and you'll find the correlation

Fukking fantasy leagues made the NFL? This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I have to admit that I know many people that have bought the NFL ticket on Direct TV just to watch obscure games now because of Fantasy. Fantasy football has made even the worst games of the week worth watching. It is also not unusual to hear the commentators talking about player's fantasy stats in games.
It certainly didn't make the NFL, but it is making it more interesting and appealing to casuals as well as hard core fans.

Sure there are more casual fans no argument with that. Goat saying NFL only survives because of fantasy is idiotic

Yeah, I don't know where he came up with that from. If Obama came out tomorrow and banned everyone in America from playing Fantasy Football with the penalty of death, the NFL would still continue to survive.

Look at March Madness. Would it be around if people didn't fill out brackets? Yes. Would it be nearly as popular? No

That is a good point.
I used to run weekly Football polls back in the 90's and early to mid 2000's and the amount of people that played them that didn't know shit about football was amazing.

I didn't mean NFL wouldn't survive without fantasy
My point is NFL is thriving now with fantasy
You guys never answered any of my points.
Why is there a huge correlation between the increased popularity of fantasy and the NFL revenue over last decade?
Why has baseball diminished as the top watchable sport in the US?
They're even doing fantasy segments on ESPN now.
Without fantasy NFL would not be the number 1 sport in America -- and it never was -- until fantasy came into the picture....
Anyone like silver that wants to legalize gambling is simply looking out for their business revenue.
To say Goddell has done all this for NFL is simply incorrect. Invention of fantasy football fukkin took the NFL to a new height.

Fantasy has played a big roll in the surge of the NFL's popularity, but straight up gambling is and always was the driving force. None of the major sports would have the ginormous tv contracts (i.e. the source of most of their riches) without both. People are fooling themselves if they think otherwise.
Oh, and morning shift va-JJ, you're a clown.

Exactly. An ad every commercial break during any sporting event, sometimes multiple times for both sites during a single commercial break. Shit is ridiculous.

Apparently you can only get away with this stuff on Wall Street where if you F up, the govt not only upholds it but gives you a bonus.
Not sure you can even say this was totally unethical. Just guys knowing how the system works and using that to their advantage. I have even heard that is what America is all about. They sure don't think the same about high frequency trading because it is the billionaires making the $$$.

The companies should have done something about it when all their guys were making millions. But those were the guys that designed the system so probably hard to cut them off. All these guys came from poker and sportsbooks. They created a system they could take advantage of.
