good resource (fangraphs link on playoff umps)

Ted Barrett – He calls a large zone and it can be seen the results. Hitters better come swinging if he is calling the game.

if that scouting report holds true, that certainly helps deGrom's cause if the wind is blowing out.

I really didn't get to hear any of the game. How friggin cold was it? Why was everyone wearing masks, was it -10 or sumting?

Baseball all about timing your steroid cycle....Daniel Murphy case in point. Arrieta has come off his

Tout talk, losses are never bad capping, or just because your team got outplayed

THere's always a reason that they couldn't have foreseen that screwed them

It's always funny the excuses they come up with in hindsight, and how they're certain that's what caused them to lose.

Case in point, Brock Landers and his steroid cycle theory. That must've been it. He has intimate personal knowledge of both Murphy and Arrieta, knows not only that both take steroids (which is generally frowned upon by the MLB, especially in postseason), but Brock also has their cycle schedules. But somehow, he only knew all of this AFTER the fact. He somehow couldn't use this knowledge to his benefit and win a game. He also has an extensive database supporting his assumption that steroid cycles are directly correlated to victories. But again, he only knew this after the game. Brock is a conundrum.

            Funny how that works.

Missed getting in on Hendricks at a good number. May look to bet a total--leaning on an under..either TT or game. Going to pass on taking a side. GL on your bets, gents.

agreed. A bullpen battle of attrition should favor the Mets. We will see. Fingers crossed the under hits.

head's up base running...can't remember the player, but I recall recently a similar situation and the runner didn't run to 1st and the catcher was able to recover.

New development...Mets are getting robbed by the ivy.

quite the opposite in this inning. Soler makes a poor play and dives and the ball goes all the way to wall. The ivy rule was called, which was bogus. Should have been two runs in that inning.

under might not survive this inning.

Cubs' BP is a huge liability.

These young Cubbies can rake, but their OF play is embarrassing.

I believe it is now 6 out of 7 Cubs playoff games where the opponents have scored 4 or more runs.

Plus, their bp is not that great. I know that Jake got reamed in the first inning during his last start, but he is a good pitcher and he was able to settle in. Lester is not bad either.

If the Royals and Mets close out both series, the Royals are going to challenge the Mets' pitching staff to a degree that they haven't experienced. Going to be a tough series. I lean Royals, but I won't be betting a series winner as I am holding a Royals and Mets W.S. future tickets.
