Covers unveils new NASCAR handicapping section!
For those of you that wager on stock cars, this is a pretty sweet new tool. It won't replace RacingOne for pure data on drivers and teams, but it does have a fantastic Driver vs. Driver analysis matrix which is going to make a huge impact on my plays in the future. With the loss of Arena football this summer, I'm turning more to tennis and racing to pick up the slack, and I had to share news of a great new advantage like this to my fellow NASCAR fans on SBR.

Essentially that's it, Flyers. You look at past performance at that track, factor in mometum from previous races, and most importantly you watch the televised practices. It's really easy to see whose cars are set up to really connect with the track that weekend. If you pay attention, by the time you look at the odds in the head to head matchups, the value will just stick out like a sore thumb. RacingOne posts all the data from practices and qualifying, along with all the past performance data. Then you can analyze the matchups at Covers. It's pretty lucrative, I've had a couple races that I've just broken even, but none where I lost money so far this year. Let me know if you need any help, or ask The General or Onlooker. Those guys are sharp at racing.

That's correct, Flyers, racing at Phoenix this weekend. The final practice is just starting on SPEED Network right now if you want to watch, and then Qualifying begins at 1900h EDT again on Speed. Phoenix is one of my favorite tracks, I'm looking for strong showings from Greg Biffle and AJ Allmendinger tomorrow, but of course everything depends on the prices set and the matchups offered by my books.

It's so much to do with equipment and money, more so than drivers. In any given race, maybe 25% or 11 cars which really have a chance to win a Cup event. Even less most often in the Camping world truck and Nationwide series. For example, Last week in the Nationwide race from Nashville, I think TheGreek had 11 drivers with listed odds then the field.

Not to say that Dexter Bean could win in the 48 car as drivers do have a big role, but then look at Dale Jr. Most popular, very experienced and in one of the best rides. He struggles.

I hope you enjoy your BBQ, Flyers, and best of luck tonight. I'm on the Pens, personally, but I've been wrong many times before.

NASCAR has only gotten better if you ask me, and the switch to the new cars has given us a whole new stable of drivers that are competitive throughout the season. Genny's right about the equipment, but you still need a winning driver behind the wheel in order to take the checkered flag. Nothing beats those final few laps if your driver(s) have a chance to taste victory.
