Tis the season for BBQ and I used to do a hell of alot more of it when beef prices were cheaper.I ran across a super market flier from where I live from the late 90's and beef roast was on sale for 79 cents a pound.And I remember buying it for years at that price and it was pure red non muscular,non fat beef.I used to dehydrate it for half as long as you would for jerkey and it was great with BBQ sauce.40 1/4 burgers at Sam's Club used to go for $8.90 a box.Now that beef has doubled and trippled,a person eats more filler food with their meat like bread and potatoes and it makes a person fat.
So what BBQ sauce brand is the best?What style is the best?Anyone like a real sweet sauce?It seems like every ex jock and every ex gang member,ex con and ex porno king or queen has a BBQ sauce with their face plastered on it on the market.It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where he wanted a case of BBQ sauce with the guy that looked like Charles Groden on it.Geesh,I think he was an A-hole so I wouldn't want him on the bottle.
Kraft BBQ sauce is cheap and horse sh%t! Famous Dave's no matter what variety has a bad celery after taste.Cookie's is decent.Sweet Baby Ray's is really good but it could be thicker.At alot of dollar stores they sell a full quart bottle that tastes alot like Sweet Baby Ray's but it's even better and thicker.Buy it by the case if you ever see it for $1 a quart.
