Don't waste your money on this. If the Cavs don't sweep, they win in 5.

I agree... Any money put on the Piston's is better off laying on the Cav's or Lakers winning the whole thing.

Piston's are horrible. Cleveland sweeps and wins by 20 points tomorrow. Detroit was just lucky the season wasn't any longer or Charlotte or Indiana may have surpassed them for the eight seed.

Bill, I totally see your point about betting Detroit at 25-1+ to win the series and anybody who makes the ridiculous claim that betting on Detroit is "throwing your money away" just doesn't understand about "value" and its relation to betting.

Once you get past Lebron James, the entire rest of the Cavaliers are mediocre at best.

I don't think the Pistons have any "heart" at all with their current lineup but the only side when talking about this series is betting Detroit.

Finally, to the poster that asked about betting Detroit at 75-1 to win the East, that would be a horrible wager.

Since you can get about 25-1 on Detroit to beat Cleveland, they would have to be less than 2-1 to win the East afterwards for the 75-1 to have value. Since they are the #8 seed and both of their next opponents would still have the home field advantage, I would put fair value on the Pistons winning the East at around 300-1.

I went with Cavs-12 in game 1. If there is an opportunity to bet on the Pistons it might be in game 3. I see the Cavs blowing them out in game 1 and 2 but letting their guard down in game 3. Any money on the Pistons to win the series is wasted.

I'm seeing all of these futures wagers in this subforum, isn't it better to just bet the ML every game rather than taking the series price? I mean, no matter how Detroit pulls the series upset, it seems like much better value to do some kind of prorated ML bet game by game. If you like Detroit at +2700, take them @ +750 game by game, it's better value. Albeit, if something wacky happens like Lebron breaks his hip early in the series, then Detroit won't be riding the huge MLs as much and some value will be compromised.
