the significance is that after years of slavery and segregation in this country a black man was able to participate in something in the society that was unheard of before then.

Orientals were not forcefully brought here and enslaved. There's a ****ing difference. Surely you can see that. It's not about Jackie. It's about history and direction or development of the country. It's a reason for you whiteys to feel good about yourselves.
