    NHL Wagering?
Anyone care to share their general strategy in NHL wagering this season? How successful has it has been with the rule changes. Thanks...

Mab I have not made a real bet yet. I have made some fake bets in my head to see how they did.

I think NHL is a little easier that the NFL. So much going on now hard to focus in on NHL. If it was me I for now would read game previews like from sportsnetwork to get a good feel.

the overs have been cashing like crazy early but, the puck lines are a little too pricey it seems like. the money lines still have a ton of value i have noticed up to this point.

as far as strategy goes, there really isn't anything different from last season accept for the puck lines which are not worth playing i don't feel and, over/unders which the books still haven't seemed to adjust accordingly IMO

I've been very successful with the over/unders and somewhat successful with the moneylines. I've been betting every game since the opening night and I'm in the green so far.

What are you talking about? A mental bet is the same as a real bet.

Hockey is the sport I know the most. I'm not a fan of any particular team but I like a good offense or defense system. Been capping for many years and I tend to make the same mistakes over and over again: bet too many puck lines, and look for best value.

Had a bad start this season, going 1-4 (-6.00 units). Hitting for .500 ever since, slowly getting back some of my losses. I've had a very decent week-end going 9-5 (+4.52 units) and now stand at 23-20 (+0.13). I'm still getting screwed by some teams (Atlanta in a slump ever since Kovalchuk's return, San Jose struggling) but I'm getting by with defensive teams (Wild, Panthers) and some underrated ones (Predators).

I don't bet many O/U, losing with Atlanta, winning with Florida and Minnesota. I feel that teams, in general, don't yet exploit all the new rules. Last night again, 1 game out of 4 went Over. Saturday, 2 out of 10 went Over (I believe there was one push). And I bet too many puck lines as so many games ended up with a one-goal difference.

Apart from statistics and all news reports (injuries, scratches, etc.), I base my capping on how teams usually play each other.
