E-bay-Paypal collusion, freeze sale funds in your account for 21 days.Scam loopholes!
Anyone recently sell something on E-bay where you fell into the 21 day frozen sale funds on your Paypal account? The money was transfered into my account for my camera sale and I sent the thing to Belarus. The buyer had a 100% rating but the whole thing went against my better judgement as to me being leary about being scammed by a shifty character from Minsk.Chargebacks, saying the package was never received, the package got tossed around by Igor the mail man or Mudzilla the customs lady who did the shotput in the olympics.etc.100 other scenarios.

Any E-bay traders that got caught in this squeeze? This policy just started recently too, didn't it?

The freeze doesn't take hold for people w/ over a certain amount of verified sales. Also, the finds will be released once you receive positive feedback.

Just another reason why you should sell on Clist and why you shouldn't allow double-dipping ebay and their insanely buyer friendly policies to hose you.

I've had that happen to me recently - sold something on eBay for the first time in a couple of years and the funds were frozen until the buyer left me positive feedback. Didn't mind that nearly as much as the outrageous fees one now has to pay - they're hidden everywhere. $1.5 Fee to list, fee according to the selling price, another fee just to receive the payment in my Paypal account, and since I'm Canadian, a currency conversion fee to withdraw the money to my bank account. All in all, it cost me over $40 to sell a $400 item. I'm not even taking shipping into account since it was paid for by the buyer.

Never again. Craigslist and other local classifieds websites are just as efficient and it costs zero.

        Fee's on ebay are huge!!!

You can charge back anything that isn't shipped with tracking/delivery confirmation. You can then ********** on your **** card if paypal does not rule in your favor. Its a huge scam.

My suggestion is to ship fedex ground/ups ground. And to request a signature. Include this in sale. Most people will pay for prompt tracking/reciept of given items. The cost isn't much more than USPS to be honest and you get 500% better service.

Your 100% correct, make the person on the other end sign for it. Ebay is totally screwing people.

I am in the US and I just recently bought something from a guy in Ontario. The transaction was for about $230.00, and I paid through paypal, his funds were frozen until I left positive feedback becuase he didnt have enough sales.

A US postal money order or cashier's check resolves this minor problem. My boys sell stuff on their constantly but won't take paypal because of the extra fees involved unless the buyer pays an extra premium for using it (paypal).
