So the cubs are favorites, yet the rockies have a better chance to win by 2...

Can someone please explain this to me...

Home teams always have a higher variance at -1.5 from the ML because home team may not bat in ninth.

Don't forget the 9th inning, too. Leading by 1, they don't get to bat. If they are behind and come back to win, they have to do so by hitting a non-solo HR to cover the -1.5.
