I miss Circuit City, Best Buy sucks now.

When Circuit City was around, I'd anxiously await Sunday so I could check both places weekly ads, where both tried to outdo the other with great DVD deals. 20, 30, 40 DVDs on sale for $9.99, $6.99, $4.99...

With CC out of the picture, Best Buy doesn't even pretend like they care anymore. Every week they have about 4 DVDs on sale that everyone already has (Wow, Godfather and Scarface on DVD, never would have added those over the last 10 years).

Competition is good. Best Buy sucks.

Of course they aren't.

They we're, however, the two best when it came to weekly ad sales. I've built a collection of over 400 DVDs without ever spending more than $9.99 on a DVD, and much more often even less.

Finding great deals on used DVDs is fun, and plenty of other places sell DVDs as well, but these were the best.

If you know of any places that sell new DVDs at more competitive prices, please share them.

Don't question Blu-ray's superiority at all, just don't feel the need to spend thousands of dollars on them at this point.

most movies are crap anyway, not worth owning.

i plan on eventually setting up a multimedia server and having at least a terabyte hard drive with nothing but movies in 720p.

Best Buy still is good for computers, tvs, ect Circuit City was solid but I see little difference between the two other than best Buy has more product.

how do you rip and burn DVD's now a days? i used to have a program that worked well, but it stopped working and quit doing it..
