    SBR: Aren't you overeacting?
Good grief! You aren't a sportsbook, you don't charge money for your service, you are located in Costa Rica and you are censoring your site for United States customers? Come on!

Of course, the "censored" information is easily available. But what in the world are you afraid of when BODOG is going strong.

    Don't you have any balls?

    Sincerely

I think it's smart of them.. Protecting there ass, why risk when you don't have to.. All the information is still avaliable to US customers and SBR is protected...

One really can't be too careful in this climate. Overreating would be to block by IP and pretty much give up on the business model all together like Party Poker. If the lawyers like the present solution, seems like perfect compromise to me.

Why not take procautions just in case the feds start busting web portals. I feel this is what makes SBR in a class of there own in this industry, because they will indeed try to protect "everyones" safety just in case something happens down the road.

Seems kinda like a joke to me.

If you're from the USA don't press this button.
We mean it! Don't press this big shiny button!!!

Well you can go into a store and steal a candy bar because they left it out in a nice shiny package. Is that the stores fault?

We have taken reasonable action and thats always the key.

            Is it too much? Maybe.

That is the key, is it "reasonable action"? I would think that given current technology, lawyers could make a strong case that IP filtering is simple enough that the "shiny button approach" is not a reasonable action. The fact that SBR's lawyers are happy with the button must mean that SBR is only a little bit worried about their exposure.

We may use IP filtering. We are certainly looking at that. However, you can not tell someone's citizenship from their IP and not all browsers that folks use even show IPs. Many more free downloads cloak IPs. So we will still always have to let people know that if they are a US citizen that our rules clearly state they should use the site created just for them.

SBR is not the only big portal in panic-mode over this. It seems that books, casinos and portals alike are all sh*tting their pants at the prospect of extradition orders from Unc Sammy.

I am not eyewitness... but i think the feeling in the middle of 30´s in Germany was the same... I am really sad. So less is enough and everybody has shit in the pants.
I am resigning to say that it is bad.... I know, everybody has family etc... I hope everybody who has the shit there will laugh himselves in the day when he will be dying - that was influenced by decision of someone who was such a fool that can not do anything else than politics.
People with the shit in the pants deserve..what they have.

This would have have been as applicable before as now. Portals are worried because of apparent complicity with casinos offering "illegal" gambling as per the recent legislation.

                              sbr lines access

Are we still able to access SBRlines from the US??
Because when I try I can't get past the agree to terms window.
Even after clicking agree nothing happens.
Also was unable to access sbrforum directly..had to go thru sbr website.
                              Whats up
Is there a way to access sbrlines????from US??

Are you still having a problem? We are not blocking anyone from any site. You should be able to agree to the TOS and have the site come right up.

                                    That is very wierd!
I have tried multiple times from my home comp and work and am unable to access SBRlines from either comp regardless of my entry/access point.
Both comps are msxp and have tried both ie and firefox.
I can't believe there is no-one else having this problem with lines!
