Here's the deal : EVen if mendes takes mcmuppet down he'll pop right back up, I have no doubt about it. So with that being said, it'll most likely turn into a slug fest on the feet just like with aldo and mendes (since mendes couldn't take aldo down) same concept. Some guys just have to good of tdd so there's no choice but to stand, I'm pretty sure mcmuppet is one of these guys with ultra good tdd. He showed the knee at the weigh ins, but I don't think he throws a knee that early in the fight, the uppercut hook he loves to counter with would work just as good, he's too accurate and powerful with his hands to risk throwing a knee that early in the fight. That uppercut hook with chad rushing in for a takedown would create a hell of a force. I don't think chad shoots for the takedown right away though, he's talked about it too much for that to be his gameplan, he'll test the waters standing for a few minutes before he relizes he's in deep water, I believe he's confident in his hands and chin. He wants Conor worried about the takedown to slow Conor in the stand-up game, but Conor has shown good takedown defense and excellent grappling, so all the talk of him taking him down is falling on deaf ears, Conor's only worry in this fight is the overhand right from mendes.Originally posted by Giants007Comment -
