He's only playing for a one year Max deal just like K Love before they both sign insane contracts once the new TV deal kicks in @ 2016

JJ I don't think leaving again would do much else to his rep. He probably is just using this as leverage but what a greedy hoe if it is true.

I hope Dan Gilbert finds a way to dismantle him has a human. Guy needs to be punished. No athlete in the history of sports has ever come close in what Lebron James has done to fans... and what a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE to Dan Gilbert AGAIN. Wow! You simply can't trust a guy like Lebron James Fuk him.

Oh btw he isn't going anywhere. Now he is going to go into hiding until the cavs max out Tristan Thompson. Then he will see what they do with love. Then when they are broke he will come in and say he wants tons of coin.
This opt out shit is bullshit.

Chill out TMS... this really wasn't unexpected. He signed a two-year deal with a player option for 2015-16, knowing full well that the salary cap and max salaries would increase exponentially with the infusion of TV revenue in 2016.
He'll re-sign with the Cavaliers. He's not looking to bolt. He's just positioning himself to maximize his earnings when he becomes a free agent again next summer. It's a business maneuver, no different than any other professional athlete who wants to tap their earning potential.

He probably would go to another team if the price was right, but that is really a terrible way to conduct yourself in the NBA imo. If we are talking about marriages then that is a different subject. Sometimes it is beneficial for both parties to split for the greater good.

I'm sure a guy like Lebron has a no-trade clause written into his contract.

Y'all shouldn't be silly, he is opting out so he can resign a new max deal, which was a reason he actually signed the one he did when coming back. Now with the new TV deal he can sign a 5 year $180+ million deal

Nothing to see here. He just wants some more dead presidents. Unless of course they don't fire Blatt, then he may leave. Since he's the gm, I assume Blatt will be gone.

LeBron James has informed the Cavs that he will opt out of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, according to sources of Brian Windhorst.
It was expected all along that James would opt out, so this news shouldn't be surprising to anyone. While there's sure to be no shortage of teams that will attempt to pry away James from Cleveland during free agency, he reportedly will not visit with any of them, so it's basically a certainty he returns a Cavalier next season. He could sign another short-term deal with a player option in 2016 in order to again hit the open market when the salary cap is expected to skyrocket, and he could take his time in signing that deal, to wait-and-see what other assets the Cavs can acquire during free agency.

Of course the greedy bastard could take less and then he wouldn't have his excuse makers crying that he has no help.
