    SBRLines doesn't cut the mustard
Ever since AAO gave me that free trial to the Premium Pro at SportsInsights, I now realize exactly how much extra cash a real lines service can make you compared to free leftovers from SBR.

Today when the Yankees made their pitching change, SI had it instantly and allowed me to still grab a -200 before any movement occured. SBR Odds took over 15 minutes to report the change, and by the time they did the line was already -215 and moving fast in all the major books. The matchup and injury reports are likewise vastly superior.

It's nice that SBR wants to put out a free service, but they push it so hard around here I'm not sure if most posters realize how much better you can do with lines. If you would like to make your betting profitable, and you have the time to invest in getting good prices, you owe it to yourself to examine other lines services besides SBR. It truly does take money to make money, and if you're willing to spend on good information, your bets will reflect it and show better profit.

I highly doubt there's a single pro gambler out there using SBR Odds as his price shopping tool.

          Solid post

I have been checking baseball lines all day today...sbr really has nothing on SI...its like the Uconn womans basketball team compared to a D3 school such a Salem st....they both play basketball but thats where the similarities end.

Seems to have gone backward a little. Wrong pitchers are shown, and lines, like 5Dimes, are not live.

That's an instant classic post, AAO. I wish I could've gotten the point across so succinctly.

Correct...Im seeing 219 pinny, 220's most places and even some 230's. That number might go up but none the less, even if the closing time was right now, he would still be saving 8 cents which adds up.

I use both Sports Insights and SBRlines - usually with Sports Insights showing the "Normal" view and SBRlines showing the spreads (so I can quickly see MLB/NHL moneylines on one and puck/runlines on the other).

Great thing about SBRlines is the flexibility (i.e. the ability to display all sports on one page and/or only selected plays). Its major drawback (to me) is that there is no way to know if the page has stopped auto-updating, which seems to happen quite often. Sports Insights has a traffic-light indicator telling you when the link has been dropped for whatever reason.

For the record, I'm amazed that SBR is able to offer SBRlines for free. It must cost quite a bit to maintain. Top-notch free tool - it merely sucks when one is using a spotty wireless connection.
