if you guys want to blame someone, look at

A; top of the eight, 1st and 3rd, GIDP cubs, forgot who
      b: soriano misplayed weeks double
c: weeks took third on a pitch in the dirt

plenty of blame to go around

the ground ball to short by braun wasnt gonna be two, no chance. he had to come home, and he doesnt have a strong arm.
I choose A: Insurance run cost them and me HUGE.

yep, i swear to god , 9 times out of 10 on the road, when teams up 1 and cant get that next run in, they lose
gregg does suck, you are right

i agreed with you everyone except saying he could have turned two on that play. he had to come home, and he did a shitty job of it!

Actually, soriano cost them the game. routine fly he blew.
        tough loss.

I doubt the cubs will wait to long if Gregg does not do a better job closing... I would think Marmol will be in, or they will rotate...

guys about the closer situation... I honestly do think that Lou made the right decision. I cant even explain how important Marmol is in the 7th and 8th innings. Like today for example he came in with 1 out with 2 men on and he got out of that jam. Why save the 9th when he can save the game in the 7th and 8th in those real tough situations? Let Gregg deal with the 9th with nobody on base and a fresh inning. He has shown he can do it in the past. Is he great? By all means hell no, Marmol is much better. But Gregg isnt terrible either, this is just 1 blown save being magnified. I like the way the bullpen is set-up but we need to get a lefty who can come in and get those lefty bats out bc Cotts wont cut it

Cotts has been known to be inconsistent! The Cubs should not act surprised by him... They decided to start the season with him as their only lefty from pen? Is this Gregg's first blown save this year? I think he led league in blown saves last year so again the Cubs should not be surprised...

marmol is a head case, not a secret
cotts sucks ass, no chance he becomes closer
they will ride gregg for a while. its just 1 game, and it wasnt even his fault, it was sorianos.

No I did not mean Cotts as a closer! Just their only lefty from pen.... I am sure the Cubs will be looking for another lefty even before the all -star break... I think he had one lights out year with the White Sox and that was it. I know Marmol had a very bad streak last year and was otherwise untouchable...
