For example, I could take the Mets -1 instead of -1.5. That way, if they win by one run I get a push.

pinny does, but most of you cant use them,
BUT you can make your own in any book,
you bet both the m/l and the -1.5 run line, there is a formula that i read ages ago on how to correctly work out how much to bet on either bet, but cant remember it, basically you bet it so that you push if you win by 1.
you win your m/l wager, but lose your -1.5,
you place more on your m/l wager, how much depends on odds. its not hard to work out when you have both wagers in view in your bookies account.

i dont do -1.5 anymore, i always do -1, id rather push than lose on the -1.5

example, mets vs cinncy
mets are 1.87 m/l and 2.45 -1.5,
so we would risk 50 on m/l, and 43 on runline,
i think that is right.
