most of you people are degens though.

how many of you go right into basketball after the fb season?

not me, i travel the fcking world and enjoy my hard earned money and hard fought freedom. on my trips i read a book a day and fck anything that moves.

90% of the posters here would be wayyyy better off if they just dropped gambling.

ask yourself these questions. how many books have you read this year? how many trips have you taken? how much money have you won? do you have actual hobbies?

see, for me it was the opposite. i started as a degen looking to make a quick score (usually leads to disaster) and morphed into someone who consistently earned for 4 years.

don't need it. not betting next season.

4 years of winning might seem like a lot. but i've only made 600 bets and i'm not 'absolutely convinced' that the wheels won't fall off.

i'm someone who takes great pleasure in 'quitting winner'.

i'm gonna take my money and go back to school. i'm interested in psychology and i'm still pretty young.

                    Gambling is destructive period

I know $10 bettors that are in therapy actually because of what it did to their minds

So many different levels of gambling also...physically no as worse as drugs but just as hard to stop

Although most will not steal to feed a gambling habit but drugs you will

well... we've confirmed that one time (in a coke and viagra induced haze), anything meant a dude masquerading as a woman.

i still laugh, thinking, that me of all people, ****** a dude in the ass. lolz...

i'd pretty confidently say that the majority of dudes in my situation would have done the same thing. it wasn't too bad. outside of the whole rooster situation.

not period gold. the majority of people who gamble do so in a responsible and entertaining way.

it's the illusion of winning that is most destructive. if people get sucked into that illusion, problems typically follow.

You're a smart dude. Don't go to school and major in Psychology. Plenty of stuff that is interesting and gets you paid. Psychology is either 8 years of schooling, or a field that you can't get a job in.

Sports betting defintely hooks you, regardless of the amount that is wagered. From my experience it is incredibly difficult to practice mindfulness and staying in the present moment while sports betting. Always thinking about the next wager or the next score, trying to get even. Even the pros are losing years of life doing what they do, it's not easy on the heart you know, those tense final moments of the hundreds or thousands of games you've watched, and the hundreds upon hundreds of times in those final few ticks everything changes.....despair to elation, and elation to despair! How could this happen? The sad thing is I could watch an occasional game before and be somewhat excited about it, and into it at the crucial times...but without $ on it I may as well be watching the 6 oclock news. I say if you are successful in the game and your mental health is still intact make your $, but for anyone who's lost countless hours, opportunities, sleep, friendships, family over betting it's just not worth it. Vegas has people working for them that are smarter than this entire forum put together, you are trying to beat a multi-billion dollar business that has programs/computers/algorithms of the future. Then you have to pay just to get an even wager, then if you parlay like a fool they take even more $ from you. It's all a game, and I swear to God those aholes win like 90% of the time. Poker is fun to play with friends live occasionally, used to do it more but I try not to put too much $ down anymore. It's futile in the long run for me. I try to go to the beach, go outdoors to parks, play golf frisbee with friends in wooded areas, play hackeysack in the woods and listen to bob marley while drinking red stripes, try out new ice cream places because ice cream is delicious, play the harmonica on the beach with my dog Lyndon Johnson, and spend more time with my blowup doll Tina. It's really been fun not gambling lately.

But so is being indecisive about political issues and saying sorry way too often.

These white castles sliders are about to get destroyed like Jay Cutler will destroy any chance the Bears had of being good until the next decade.
Its IMPOSSIBLE to destroy a burger that badly.

Its not like they just disappear after you eat them

def not. were programmed to be mindless consumers by the ruling elites. many in the millennial generation seem to be refusing to accept that, which is encouraging.

I know $10 bettors that are in therapy actually because of what it did to their minds

So many different levels of gambling also...physically no as worse as drugs but just as hard to stop

Although most will not steal to feed a gambling habit but drugs you will
I agree with you, but I've seen people steal to gamble as they would steal to feed a drug addiction. If someone is a compulsive or problem gambler, goes on tilt easily, drinks and bets too much, chases losses, lets gambling affect them emotionally they should stop immediately, take 10 deep breaths, drink a warm glass of tea, take a shower, take a walk for 10 weeks and think about where you are going and what you want to become in life, doesn't matter if you're 20 or 70 you can become something great apart from gambling too.

i think gambling affects everyone emotionally. it's just that some people have to ability to push through that to a certain extent. but even if you can still bet effectively, it permeates into other areas of life.

my big thing when i was tilted and needed to think clearly, i'd go walk for an hour straight. no ipod/phone, just me and my thoughts. by the end of the walk, you work it all out.

walk it out people. my best thinking occurs while i'm on a long walk. this is how i think for myself and avoid that 'herd mentality'. now it's just habit. i do it every day and i love it.
