Baseball is Back! ATL/PHIL does NOT go over 8.5 tonight
I generally don't post or even always bet early season games but I figured we'd try and kick things off right as a lead in to the season. 2 aces on the mound tonight cold and possibly rainy night in Philly. Both teams want to get the season started right and solid pitching and defense should control this game. I hate to lay the -115 on a season opener but I'm going to anyways. Final score prediction is Philly 4 Atl 2

Well that would send it over by half a run so I sure hope not! The only problem I see early this season is WBC may have some hitters sharper but I guess pitching staffs will be better prepared as well. My strongest feeling towards this game is the cold air, the pitchers arms should not be tired, and the batters will not be in full stroke yet but GL on whatever your action is this eveningComment -

I dont think you can bet on this game based on last games performance. You know how it is in baseball, games are hot and cold for pitchers. I think you have to look more at the starting lineups and other factors such as home field, motivations etc. I honestly believe that phillies will be coming out in this game with motivations to defend their title..I also think Lowe will feel more pressure than myers facing the defending champions.Comment -
I like more Braves win. You basically have the Braves best pitcher against Phillies 4th pitcher. The under is not a bad play because I don't see Lowe giving up any runs.

Good luck to you as well pavy, but I am totally opposite than you on this play. I see both pitchers giving up runs in this one...lowe isnt that great of a pitcher..he is braves top starter, but he is hardly any hamels or santana...Comment -

i have braves +110, trying not to get too cute with it in the first game. no props, over/unders etc. pavy you and i have a lot of the same thoughts on the game but let me add that the braves are better defensively and looking at other spring training numbers the leans are on atlanta.Comment -

As much as I think Myers will pitch a solid game tonight, I see Lowe having an efficient night, keeping the ball on the ground, and the pressure on the WS champs to win their home opener being a big factor. That being said, the under is probably the strongest play on the game.Comment -
