I never saw so many posters that do not like the mods here. It rmeinds me of like 5 years ago at the RX.

#4I think the issue is that SBR doesn't hire people to actually run the forum. They like their Mods to be involved in other aspects of their business model and don't really have anyone that truly enjoys riding herd on the forum and its inevitable drama. Whenever something happens on the forum requiring intervention, it's unmistakable that whoever the Mod you're dealing with is completely disgusted at having to tackle the issue in addition to their already substantial workload.
That's why we all miss BBD, because he had the inclination to handle things via PM without just handing out infractions pell-mell and pissing people off. Over half of traffic stops in America don't result in tickets, because most times when laws are broken all people need is a reminder that you can't get away with that and to do better next time. If everytime a cop pulled you over you had to pay a fine people would develop such a hatred for the police that they wouldn't be able to effectively manage crime for all the acrimony they would encounter at every turn.
It's great that SBR has such talented people Modding the forum, but none of them remotely enjoy it. How about they hire one person who truly loves dealing with posters and their drama and let him/her take point on our community? They'd save money in the long run by having the existing personnel be more effective at what they were truly hired to do and having a happier, healthier group of posters on the forum instead of all of us feeling like we're victims of blatant exploitation. We know we contribute to the bottom line, so if we are left feeling completely unappreciated by the staff, then we get upset. It's not hard to figure out, and it's even easier to solve.

Willy Bee thought his role was going to be different and when he found out he had to be a mod he was ticked adfter giving up a job at an accounting firm. I would be too.
So when a poster acts up they know no other way but to attack and get out their frustrations out on posters. It is like when a guy comes out of a game in baskets or when a guy enters a game at the end because he is a scrub.

#8Well said, JJ. I love the way that I can post about an abstract and you instantly understand me and place it within the framework of the scenario at hand. You and I, my friend, are a born posting team.

#9Originally posted by jjgoldPost of year, do you think Vegas Dave really wants to be here?? This is a guy that is frustrated because he never went to USC or failed out whatever the case maybe. He is angry and has the "why me" syndrome like Bread.
Now I get the chance to work for a place that I loved hanging out at in my own free time, and I enjoy coming on and writing articles and doing vids and interacting with you guys. I really don't know how this comes close to me being angry and having a "why me" attitude. Why would I have taken the job in the first place if I felt that way?Comment -

#11Mods here have no negotiating skills. If they were police negotiators in a hostage situation they would have killed all the hostages so the police can kill the intruders and they can go home. Why try to negotiate when the paycheck is always the same?Comment -

This is a huge failure in your life.
But this is not a huge failure in my life. Why do you think I was going to school and studying broadcast journalism? My GOAL in life was to get a job where I could talk sports, write about sports, do videos about sports. That is what I get to do here.

#18Originally posted by Nicky Santoroi agree. just look at bbd.. people think i am joking but i am not.. when billy didn't give bbd his raise, bbd did challenge billy to a fight and threatened him. that is not the way to negotiate.
