Can we auction our username if we decide to retire?

I think posters should be allowed to auction their usernames if they decide to retire. I'm pretty sure my name can fetch close to a dime if I decide to auction it.

The idea is similar to auctioning a domain name you have registered 2-3 years ago depending on your join in date.
