Brandon Jennings always wanted to be a New York Knick. The Detroit Pistons point guard had hopes that the Knicks would take him in the 2009 draft. Instead he fell to Milwaukee when the Knicks took Jordan Hill.

Now it appears that New York could finally make Jennings' dream come true a few years late. The New York Daily News reports that the Knicks have interest in trading for Jennings, who played in his second game Thursday night in his return from Achilles surgery. New York is also reportedly interested in other point guards.

That interest makes sense with Jose Calderon's limited playmaking ability at age 34, his expiring contract, and defensive issues. Calderon is shooting 40 percent from 3-point range this year, however. Rookie Jerian Grant has seen his minutes slashed to almost nothing and has acknowledged his difficulty with the Triangle offense under Derek Fisher. (Grant has shown some good signs though and the Knicks should stick with him.)

Definite upgrade from Jose Calderon. Not sure that Van Gundy would let him go after waiting for Jennings to come back from his injury all this time.

Brandon Jennings isn't an upgrade over anybody. Don't let the hype, or one bonkers game fool you.

He won't fit in the triangle offense.

No active players really do anymore. The thing's a dinosaur.
