Why isn't Detroit offering all their draft picks and half the team for this guy?

Cutler is better than Stafford will ever be.

It's not going to happen...Denver is going to be looking for at least 2 #1's for Cutler. Carolina is already pick-poor for the upcoming draft. And Julius Peppers doesn't want to go to Denver. So, a Peppers for Cutler deal isn't going to work either. So, while there are a lot of teams who are going to be lining up to make a play for Cutler, the Panthers aren't one of them...

Cutler is the best young QB who we've heard such trade talk about in some time, but in no way is he worth two first round picks.

                    You're right, Lou...

He's worth two first round picks, a third round pick and Kyle Horton...

Right, someone in Chicago obviously thought he was worth the cavalry but I just don't like the idea of parting with two 1st round picks, a 3rd round pick, and a capable backup for any player, let alone one that has never won a big game.

I absolutely agree the Bears paid a steep price...but Cutler is "worth" whatever someone was willing to pay. Econ 101...

Now, a whole lot of people's asses are on the line now...
If McDaniel doesn't win in Denver and win pretty soon, he'll be run out of town and remembered as the coach who ran off an all pro QB.

If Lovie and the Bears don't win, they'll be remembered as the people who gave away the farm for a nut case QB who never won anything.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out...

I'm not sure they will be "better" but it's a fair bet, given the Bears comparitively easy schedule, they'll have a better record.

They gave up a ton...it will only be a good trade if they win and win big.

If they don't, this will be known as this decade's "Herschel Walker to Minnesota for a ton of draft picks" trade...

not sure if it's in the same league as the Herschel Walker trade for 11 guys wasn't it? The decade is almost over anyway.

The Hershel Walker trade will live in infamy. It'll never happen again. It basically gave Dallas a dynasty for half of the 90's. Check it out.

3 1st rounders, 3 2nd rounders, some other misc picks & 5 players. Good grief.

I wonder why nobody talks about the Eric Dickerson trade of 1987. The Rams got 3 1st rounders & 3 second rounders for Dickerson in a 3 team swap.

The Cutler trade isn't even close to either of these.

And were you dogging Shanny when the Broncos were winning Super Bowls???
I never was a big fan of his. In recent years I couldn't even watch the Broncos anymore. The poor decisions, the inconsistency lays at the hands of the coaching staff. Cutler, although he has potential and a strong arm, also makes poor decisions. I don't like his attitude. May he have a good career somewhere else.
I'd like to see this team start fresh. Even if we have a loosing season, I'm O.K. with it. If you guys want to jump off the bandwagon now I'm happy to take your place

I'm a Panthers fan but I'll give Jake a break. Coming off Tommy John surgery is no laughing matter. Many will argue that it takes a full year for 100% recovery so that means this year he SHOULD be back to normal health. If this year he doesnt progress than the whole thing has to be drawn back to perspective...
