Did the AAU thing with my daughter for years. Traveled all over. Wait until they're 13-16 and if they're good enough you start traveling. Then you'll meet some beasts. Just be sure you don't refer to them directly in such manner. Girls hoops is a way different sport than it was 20 years ago. Great times. met some great people. Have fun.

We won, albeit pretty ugly.

Final score was 19-13. My big girl just completely disappeared once the game started. It was really disappointing.

Lots of silly mistakes. Backcourt violations, travels, etc. But those are an easy fix. I attribute a lot of that to nerves being that this was the very first game 6 out of the 7 had ever played. Only my daughter played last year.

As far as my big goes....she's either going to pick it up, or I'm going to sit her ass on the bench. I just didn't see the effort I hoped to see. Unacceptable!

I went to the game 2 hours ahead of ours to scout the 2 teams we'll be playing the next 2 weeks. Neither of them looked sharp. We should beat them both, but with the uninspired play of my big girl, who the fukk knows?

We're really at a crossroads here. Possibly the most pivotal game of our entire season coming up next Saturday.

There were some bright spots. My backup PG totally balled out. She really was my best player. She rose to the moment.

2-0 so far. Blew them out of the gym last week 26-4.

My kid fouled out 2 mins into the 3rd period. She was dominant out there. If you wanted to come into the paint....there was a stiff price to pay.

The next 2 games are going to be total jokes. I've already scouted all the teams, and we won't even be challenged till at least week 5. And if we have our "A" game going, that's going to be a wholesale slaughter as well.

I'll keep updating....as I know a lot of you are super excited to follow their progress.

My 2nd grade girls start their season today. We kicked ass last year, but I feel like we're going to be absolutely dominant this season.

My 2 post players are 54" and 58" respectively, and have a combined weight of 182 lbs. You have to realize these are 7-8 year olds. WE ARE FUKKIN GIANTS!!!

The bigger one is a new black girl that moved into our school this past October. She's the only black kid at our entire school, and she's an absolute beast! My daughter and her have become great friends, and together they're going to wreak fukkin havoc on the league. My PG is a girl I had on our state finalist softball team last year. Total competitor in every way. The kind of kid you win with.

They've put in a lot of work. 2 of the other teams didn't even practice over Christmas break. We did. These girls get it. Value the process....and the results will come.

This ain't about basketball. I teach winning. To winners.

UGLY game today. Probably the sloppiest we've played all year. Got the win 17-7, but we have a LOT to work on this coming week.

My daughter fouled out 1 minute into the 4th, but other than that it just wasn't a good showing.

I'm not going to let complacency creep in just because we're 4-0. I want domination. I want other teams to quit because we've forced our will on them.

***UPDATE***
Well...we're now 6-0 after this past Saturdays 22-6 beatdown of the #2 ranked team.

We have 1 more regular season game this coming Saturday, and then the tournament begins. Tourney is a week long double elimination format, with the top 2 teams moving on to play for the championship on Super Saturday on Feb 28.

Exciting couple of weeks coming up, fellas. I know you're all just as stoked for this as I am!

Tough break, pal. The other team sports a set of black twins that are both super athletic. Took us until the 2nd to finally get our high/low game going.

My daughter had a sweet 3 point play where she was able to muscle it in while basically wearing her defender. It was awesome. I finally have them understanding that basketball is basically imposing your will on another girl. That play pretty much broke the other teams spirit, and we curb stomped them the 2nd half.

Finished 10-0, and won our District Tournament. Never really were challenged, and blew the 2nd best team out in the Championship game by 13. (FYI....in 2nd grade girls basketball, 13 points is a fukkin beatdown)
