guess a zo6 is out then, what do u want, luxury, performance, a bit of each, id check into the newer used mercedes 550, or an a6, very luxurious as well as nice performance. Just don;t be that guy that buys a brand new car for no reason at all, get it at like 20k w a warranty, only u can read the odometer and it doesnt matter, u just dont need to break em in.

Mainly performance, probably an SUV. We're not looking to buy new. Used Mercedes and BMW good possibilities. She really likes the Range Rovers too. Maybe American I guess. We'll have to see what's out there.

those range rover sports are super nice. So are x'5's and i dont even like this years body styles of those. But rrovers are great automobile's, me and my ladyfriend have actually been looking at those as well but I've been a little scared by the tag.lol, but You can get a real nice one for well under 50. But u are right when it comes to suv's besides the gm line escalade etc. u are better off foreign, maybe buy foreign from an american dealership if possible. But it is a sad time for the industry. Plus when the gov. says it may have to step in to handle warranty's if the american industry goes belly up it's never a good sign, kinda like getting an iou for your ca state tax return, limited trust with no timeline.

Exactly, it's a buyers market. We'll beat them over the head for a deal. They're all desperate right now. We haven't considered the Escalade, may take it for a test drive.

Why would anyone buy used with a $50k budget with new cars being discounted 30-50%?

Get the Lexus SUV. Have the RX350 with nav and its fantastic. Close to 300hp and gets 25mpg! Bad part is it requires premium fuel.

There are some great deals on hybrids right now. Dealers are overstocked and are trying to sell on the cheap. Some should be discounted up to 30%...

I would also add Audi to the mix. EVERYONE has a beamer or Mercedes. Not too many people have Audi's and it stands out in a crowd. I have the A8 and it is incredible. It creams the BMW and Mercedes in road performance test (Just google) and the amount of leg room is awesome. I"m 6'4 and I am amazed how comfortable the car feels. I believe it has more leg room front and back seats of any car (SUV included). This is a pure luxury vehicle. Many people use it as a chauffer car where they have a driver. Definitely check it out.
