Fortunately, it's relatively easy to determine whether your computer is infected. Vu Ngoc Son, manager of BKIS' research center, provided a simple way for you to find out if your computer has the virus.

First, make sure your computer is connected to the Internet by going to a Web site such as Google or CNET. Then, if your computer can also successfully go to the Web sites of Microsoft and known security companies, such as Symantec, McAfee, TrendMicro, Sophos, Panda, and you can also run Windows Update successfully, then your computer is clear from Conficker.

On the other hand, if the computer fails to do any of those, it's likely that it has already been affected. In this case, try to follow these instructions to remove it, or use BKIS' antivirus software that can be downloaded for free. As a last resort, you can also back up your data and install Windows from scratch, then immediately run Windows Update to install the latest security patches.

Taken from Yahoo Answers... (Now this could just be one big april fools joke, but you never know)

Conficker is already out there, already on millions of computers. It is going to ACTIVATE *en masse* on April 1.

            To prevent:

            1. Check to make sure you have applied Microsoft update (patch), KB958644, which was released last October. A computer that is patched will not become infected with Conficker frtom the internet after the patch is applied.
You can check by clicking Tools > Windows updates > View update history.

Anyone having Windows update set to "automatic" should already be all set. (immune)

            2. Do a full system scan with your anti-virus to make sure that Conficker.C is not already on your machine...lying dormant and quietly waiting for April 1st.

that's not going to stop it, unless you plan on never reconnecting.

try booting your computer in safe mode, (if it doesnt allow you to boot into safe mode then your probably infected.)

best option would be to turn off system restore, erase all restore points, run windows update, reboot, boot into safe mode, run one of these removers:

One page where you can download all of Trend Micro enterprise cybersecurity products.

if youre infected, you should uninstall your antivirus, and install a new one. i would just get the free version of bitdefender, avg, or just about all of them have a free version. i would stay away from norton, its way too bloated and hogs your system resources.
Bitdefender Antivirus Free offers powerful antivirus protection that is light on any device's resources. The only free antivirus that you'll ever need!

i would also download a copy of spybot s&d
Get your free download of Spybot – Search & Destroy for Windows operating systems. This Version is provided for users of Windows 7 and newer!

i would update windows, run a full antivirus (deep) scan, then a spybot scan.

then try booting into safe mode and running one of those removers again.

From what I've been reading, the most important thing is if windows has been updating automatically (you should have it set to do this), check the update history for march. Should be recent important updates.

If not and you're unable to update, yikes...

Up-to-date good anti virus won't hurt either...
