Bodog different lines for different accounts
I have noticed in recent days (since a friend opened an account with Bodog) that they give him a line as much as 7 cents different from mine on baseball.

We were on the phone with each other comparing with refreshes at the same time.
We have similar balances and similar styles of play.

    What's up with this?
Is this common with other books?

Yes, they deal different lines to different players.

Players who tend to take a lot of underdogs or make plays considered “sharp” get dealt lines very much in the market consensus so that they will almost never find anything of value if they line shop with other books.

Players who tend to bet like a “square” and play popular public teams and favorites—or just who are too new to have been profiled yet—are dealt lines that more often stray from the consensus, in the direction that will have them paying extra to bet those public teams and favorites, and getting a correspondingly better price if they bet the other way. (Though once they start betting the other way, they will be switched to the valueless “sharp” lines, so any advantage you gain from “tricking” them by betting contrary to what they expect will be short-lived.)

It is not uncommon. Many books do it. Many books do not.

I gave up on Bodog a long time ago. Too many other places to play.
