I've seen (writer/director) Kevin Smith do "concerts" where he goes out and gabs in front of an audience and does Q & A. He's very sharp and funny and relatable.

I think you've got to have some Beavis and/or Butthead in you to like his movies though. Like, "Heh, heh, heh heh - he said diarrhea."

Kevin Smith himself seems to understand how unremarkable his movies are more than his fans.
