I doubt you'll find any tickets less than face value for the Mets since they got a new stadium. Maybe from a scalper after the game started, but you'll probably have to spend a small fortune to get tickets.

You will be able to get tickets a dime a dozen. Im a a professional ticket broker. All baseball games are dead for tickets till july and august. The teams also always release tickets the week of the game. You can keep checking ticketmaster the week of the game and you will be able to get tickets. I just checked the mets.com website as i was sure these games were not sold out. You can go online right now and buy seats in all the different sections. Everyone assumes the game sell out but they dont. The ncaa regionals this weekend are not even sold out except boston. If you want to see a yankee game most of those are not sold out either.

For a major series like against the Phillie's or division rivals and high-profile inter-league games you won't. MAYBE if the Mets are tanking by then you will find regulars selling their tickets in disgust but then why would you want to go?
