any vice legalized would do well but gambling would always come in last compared to others as far as revenue

What I would like to see is ticket windows right at the arenas and stadiums...it would be fun to go to a game and place a bet while gettingm a beer.

Mot it like we cannot do it from our phones, but still.

Unlike weed, gaming is exponentially complicated.

The Goverment will end up screwing it up so bad the underworld/internet will still be in control.

Imagine a straight $110 winning bet with the Goverment. Can`t imagine after the list of fees and taxes that we would collect $82.33.Then we would be forced to declare any winnings on our taxes.

Are you out of your mind or just paranoid about taxes? U think the govt is interested in your $6.32 tax?

DO you see that happening when you win a $50 scratch off or when you win $750 at the casino?

This is not going to create betting windows at the stadiums. What we should have is the federal government make it a states' rights issue. If they did, that doesn't mean we would get sports gambling everywhere. It's a sure thing NJ and DE would do (since they each want it so bad). I could see CT, LA, MS doing it as well. Then maybe the Dakotas. Mostly (but not completely) states with no pro teams.

This makes no sense. I don't see why legalized gambling in NJ would be any different from legalized gambling in Nevada.

As for taxes, we are already required to declare our winnings on taxes but you make it sound like you get taxed on each individual winner. We don't; losses can be deducted against winnings.

The bad seeds ruin it for everyone like anything else. You have people who can do it responsibly then you have the douchebag who loses then commits crimes and blames it on not having money because gambling is "evil". Then you have the religious idiots who decide this is the new thing which has nothing to do with their lives to stand against and it goes all the way up to the poker sites getting kicked out of USA because some clueless assholes decide to sneak it in a anti-terrorist port act and get their idiot boy Bush to blindly sign off on it.

                        Land of the free.

No I don't think so, its just an excuse as far as the bad seeds go.
There are people who can't control drinking and that hasn't lead to prohibition.

You can go to a game at Fenway, go down by the bleachers by the right field foul pole, where half a dozen or so Boston locals hang out.

I take the Metro North commuter train to work here in Connecticut.
Wall Street execs take it from Grand Central to Greenwich Ct.
Friday's, in the bar car on the train, they set up a cardboard backboard, make shift crap game, where 100 dollar benjis literally rain down on the bar on every toss of the dice, I kid you not, that 1 hour commute to Greenwich generates at least 20K of dice action.
And that's not bullshit. These guys wear 2000 dollar Brooks Brothers suits, carry 800 dollar leather breif cases, trade probably 8 figures of stock and what not in a trading day, they don't give a shit.
