I do not want any legal issues, secondly quitting due to heavy financial loses.. I will still be posting and giving my expert advice on the games and the industry.

Fat lady has not yet sung on the bill, FYI. W's failure to sign it yet has some folks scratching their heads:
Still Wiggling on the Fence
White House fails to cure kf 's vetophobia.
By Mickey Kaus
Monday, October 9, 2006 [
I telephoned the White House press office to ask if the President was going to sign the Secure Fence Act. Here's the response I got back from White House spokesman David Almacy:
"We expect the President to sign the bill but the last information we had was that we have not received the bill from Congress."
Does that sound definitive to you? I didn't think so. It doesn't to me either. "Expect" is a word that traditionally leaves a lot of wiggle room. Expectations change. ... Why can't they say: "The President will sign the Secure Fence Act"?
It's not as if Bush needs to build suspense for a cliffhanger signing ceremony. This isn't Sweeps Week. He needs to reassure the conservative pro-fence base. Which makes the White House failure to close the door on a veto all the more suspicious. ...

Thanks, Mario. I find that my winning percentage goes up when I have nothing to lose.

The bill will be signed from what my insiders have told me. I just feel it is better to cease betting due to this new law. It is very cloudy and not easy to understand and I bet many loopholes to go after book owners and not just financial institutions. Gov't can think of a million charges against a book and enforce it.
Mickey of Cris will confirm I emptied my account. He personally paid me out of his own pocket. We left it like this
" Mickey if I do come back down the road it will be credit only and an agent as an in between man. Mickey said anytime Pal and wants me still to advise him on lines."

Not to split hairs, but the Internet Gambling Bill was attached to the SAFE Port Act ... not the Secure Fence Act.

So then on this bill the White House has obviously gone farther than say that Bush "intends" to sign it.
Never mind.

If I thought there was any reality behind this, I would recommend that you stay the hell away from a forum like this.
There are people out there who really are in the position you are describing - particularly the heavy-financial-losses-due-to-gambling part - and hanging around here would be like a drug addict living in a crackhouse and expecting his problems to get better.

Thanks JJ. That was sort of a passive-agressive post I did for my first one on the board, just playing a bit. Good luck to you too. I'm under the impression that the online sites that are making moves and more affected by this law are the publicly traded companies who must follow regulations. The only one I was involved in fell under Sportingbet group of sites, so I've reduced down to nothing until the dust settles a bit. It appears that the public companies are breaking off US based business to private companies... it's gonna be tough to prevent us real players from playing. I have the fortune of living in Vegas and I'm niched into one sport only but the casinos don't offer near the choices off offshore sportsbooks that I need in a non-major sport.

The day the President signs that bill into law, you can be certain that I won't place another wager. I find it despicable that some of you would. That includes people who reside outside the US. Anyone living outside the US should follow America's lead and set an example for your fellow countrymen by closing all your wagering accounts. Additionally, if you're legally able, all non-residents should move to the US and start working here so that you can pay taxes to the US government.
