Getting old sucks. I look at pictures of my sons when they were like 5-6 yrs old and I start balling like a baby.

So far this thread is all just looking at one side of the argument though. My dad just turned 77. He still fast-walks about 3 miles every day. He's a pleasantly happy idiot.

Also, if he says something funny/suggestive to the young cashier chick, he just gets laughs like, "Oh my, such a character!" (Whereas if I say the same thing with the same harmless intention - her hand starts inching towards the pepper spray due to my extreme creepiness.)

Now it's not all sunshine and lollipops. He had cataract surgery a month back which is obviously age-related. But it didn't even phase him. Attitude is everything.

He's comfortably retired and devotes his time to his true interests: travelling, playing bridge, a few others.

Not so bad.
