    Security tokens for logins
Pokerstars just added a security token that you can get using points in their store that generates a code to authenticate your logins for you...

All communications between our client software running on client computers and our servers is encrypted. Note that encryption itself does not guarantee privacy.

Although it is kindof expensive (6000 FPP which is ~ $100) it seems like good investment if you keep any kind of balance there and greatly decreases the chances of getting your account hacked...

Would be nice to see other poker and sportsbook sites follow their lead and at least make these available to their regular customers...

I think it is a great idea but damn that is a lot of FPP.

I suppose you are right about it being worthwhile to someone with a healthy amount of money on there.

Why would anyone have more than like 2G's in a poker account?

I believe it helps detect hackers trying to brute force the password to a pokerstars account.

Considering a lot of sites have 1k-10k Single and Multi table tourneys this is no surprise. Or hell a $100+20 pays off in the mulitple thousands pretty often.

It would stop this as well as anyone else from logging into your account who has obtained your password (say obtained from keylogger or whatever) unless they have your token in their possession because it generates a random code that changes within a short period of time...

I ordered one a few days ago so I will try and give a few more details when I receive it...

okay... I got the token today and basically once you register it you have to enter the 6 digit code displayed on it (seems to change about every 30 seconds or so) with a pin that you choose along with your regular password... Seems like a solid investment for anyone with a decent balance and is worried about security... I read elsewhere that fulltilt is suppose to be working towards something similar although it likely will be awhile... Hopefully we will start seeing the sportsbook industry looking into options such as this soon as well...
