A lot doesn't make sense here to me. Why does a guy who is secretly touting using PM's, suddenly start a thread like this guaranteed to put him front and center on the radar? The one guaranteed result is that it will raise awareness of the dangers of trusting internet strangers.

He's trying to destroy his own scam?

Temporarily setting aside the issue of the absurd timeline, was his first message on the level? He really trusted an internet stranger himself and got ripped off and he is sincerely looking for help? I would think most touts would know better than to be so trusting.

I still feel like I'm missing a few important pieces.

This is the way these problem posters always start out. It's like clockwork how these things play out.

(1) First the problem poster describe their (unrealistic) problem to the forum community.

2)Then the other posters make suggestions, sympathize, and act in good faith to try to help resolve the problem without much personal consequence.

(3) Then other posters begin to ask questions and make observations about the inaccuracies in the problem posters description of events.

(4) The forum community begins to realize the guy is very phony and that the described problem is too unrealistic to ever happen (i.e. betting $1000s w/strangers online via Neteller when the poster is well aware of the countless # of books out there)

(5) Problem poster tries to justify his story by noting certain important information he may have omitted.

(6) Problem poster is once again confronted by incerased inaccuracies and contradictions in the story.

(7) Other posters chime in and conclude the story was a sham.

(8) Problem poster leaves the forum community and then takes his story elsewhere to a different gaming community with a different handle and tries to pull the same stunt.

(9) Forum life resumes at the normal pace for the regular contributing members.
